Sarpy County Art Galleries- Springfield Artworks

Springfield Artworks is located in Sarpy County, Nebraska, just 6 miles from I-80, exit 440. Glenn and Margie Trembley have owned the property for 5 years this month (June).  They opened a gallery at 183 Main Street in November of 2009.

Many enhancements to the property were done...flooring, lighting, partitions, and all those things that need to go into re-creating a space from a video store to an art gallery. The building was not bought to develop an art gallery but as time progressed and the Trembley's studied their options, they decided to make a small gallery, classroom and studio space.  The building is 2500 square feet and allows them to entertain guests as well as students.

The building has a lot of history and flavor of small town Nebraska.  It was built by Peter Kiewit from Omaha, NE and is one of the oldest remaining buildings that he constructed.

What many people don't know is it is only 6 miles from the interstate that carries hundreds of thousands of tourists across the country.  Very active in the tourism industry,  Margie and Glenn Trembley's gallery and studio was selected again to be featured in the Nebraska Tourism Passport program.

Happy Birthday 183 Main Street, Springfield, NE!

Visiting the Northeast

This weekend, the Trembley's attended Glenn's 55th  reunion from Delhass High School in Bristol,PA.

The gallery was closed as the reunion just couldn't be missed.  Glenn has only attended one reunion, and felt he needed to play catch up with all his old classmates. It was a quick trip via air but many things were crammed into that short time frame.  Pizza with Glenn's band the Blazers, Tom, Gene but missing the accordion player, Alex.  Maybe next time he'll be there.

All three have gotten rid of their instruments, including Glenn.
From left in the first picture, Gene, Glenn and Tom and on the second picture, , Alex on accordion,,Glenn on drums, Tom on guitar and Gene on sax. Must have been a great sound!

New Hope, a favorite haunt was visited twice for photos and a bit of shopping for accessories for Margie's hats. Only had time for one shop, but maybe another trip someday.

Gallery studio re-opens tomorrow at 10 am with new ideas, new materials and a whole lot of fun for students of Glenn's.  Stop by sometime!
