Sarpy County Art Galleries- Springfield Artworks

Springfield Artworks is located in Sarpy County, Nebraska, just 6 miles from I-80, exit 440. Glenn and Margie Trembley have owned the property for 5 years this month (June).  They opened a gallery at 183 Main Street in November of 2009.

Many enhancements to the property were done...flooring, lighting, partitions, and all those things that need to go into re-creating a space from a video store to an art gallery. The building was not bought to develop an art gallery but as time progressed and the Trembley's studied their options, they decided to make a small gallery, classroom and studio space.  The building is 2500 square feet and allows them to entertain guests as well as students.

The building has a lot of history and flavor of small town Nebraska.  It was built by Peter Kiewit from Omaha, NE and is one of the oldest remaining buildings that he constructed.

What many people don't know is it is only 6 miles from the interstate that carries hundreds of thousands of tourists across the country.  Very active in the tourism industry,  Margie and Glenn Trembley's gallery and studio was selected again to be featured in the Nebraska Tourism Passport program.

Happy Birthday 183 Main Street, Springfield, NE!

Great Sunday!

Pheasant Stroganoff prepared by hubby, r and r on my day of rest....Love it. Yesterday was a fantastic day.  Had many visitors at the galleery, did a demo on making a felted vessel for some seniors, had a visit from an excited teen ager who is going to study international studies at college who loves the Japanese culture. It was so much fun sharing stories with she and her Mom and sisters.

Birds are chirping...they must be very happy.  Thinking of making felted bird houses so mama bird can lay her eggs safely and keep them warm til they hatch. I am not sure what size the holes should be...if anyone has some suggestions, please let me know.

Main Street Springfield opening tonight

Great news, the construction on Main Street has progressed enough for them to open it up again after being closed to auto traffic. Come see us tomorrow. We'll celebrate!

Look for our flower pots on either side of our door.
